Heaven Wanted One More

One last dance, one last touch
Is all we wanted to ask for
But he was needed up high
Because Heaven wanted one more.

We will face the hardest times
And all the long tomorrows
Knowing he is not here with us
To comfort all our sorrows.

To never see his face again
Or hear his cheerful laughter
But we know he is happy
With God in the hereafter.

With pure white wings
Through the sky to soar
God took my father
Because Heaven wanted one more

We must be strong for him
And know that he is free
From all the pain he had
And all the misery.

That will not stop us from
Missing the man we love
But we know that he will always be
Watching us from above.

He will always be
The man that we adore
Until we see him once again
Because Heaven wanted one more

In memory of my father.
