Forsaken

In this darkened forest
That one could call my soul,
Forever wandering amongst the trees
Toward the endless shore.

The blackened waters whisper
Of forever being lost,
Never to find the glistening light
The savior to my ghost.

Oh, my God, my sacred Lord
Why have you forsaken me?
Never to find eternal rest
Never to be free?

The pallid light above me
Emitted from the moons,
Creates living shadows
Amongst the shifting lagoons.

Whisper white hands
Reach from the still waters,
Followed by the shrill laughter
Of the forgotten daughters.

Oh, my God, my sacred Lord
Why have you forsaken me?
Never to find eternal rest
Never to be free?

The darkened forms come forward
Their emaciated bodies shiver,
As the cold, still air surrounds
Them, and the many rivers.

Their sunken yellow eyes
See nothing but death,
Reach out to me
As I take my last breath.

Oh, my God, my sacred Lord
Why have you forsaken me?
Never to find eternal rest
Never to be free?

Falling into the waters
Reaching toward the sky,
The realization hits me
That I am going to die.

I cry out a silent scream
The salty waters fill my mouth,
As many pallid hands
Pull me further south.

Oh, my God, my sacred Lord
Why have you forsaken me?
Never to find eternal rest
Never to be free?

Not able to fight or yell
My body becomes unbearably hot,
The water suddenly evaporates
And in strong arms I am caught.

I look up at my Savior
His horns are what I found,
His pure white hair, long and graceful
A topped with a magnificent crown.

Oh, my God, my sacred Lord
Why have you forsaken me?
Never to find eternal rest
Never to be free?

The man tells me his name,
Lucifer: Bearer of Light,
The cold words from the sisters
Come back from this awful night.

The eternal light that I had sought
Was not the Lord I knew,
But the crowned deity in front of me
My body and soul he has accrued.

Oh, my God, my sacred Lord
I see why you have forsaken me.
To be with the one I am supposed to be
And to rule as his future queen.
